Piercing Aftercare
- Q: How do I clean my new piercing?
A: Use a sterile saline spray that Apple Moon Tattoo has provided. Gently spray or soak the area twice a day.
- Q: Can I use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or Neosporin?
A: No. These can dry out and irritate the skin, slow healing, or trap bacteria. Stick with saline only.
- Q: How long should I wait before changing my jewelry?
A: Only after it’s fully healed — even if it feels okay early on. Changing jewelry too soon can cause irritation, bumps, or infection.
- Q: Is swelling normal?
A: Yes, some swelling is normal in the first few days. Use cold compresses and avoid sleeping on or touching the piercing.
- Q: What if I see a bump near the piercing?
A: Bumps can be caused by irritation, pressure, or improper jewelry. Don’t pop it. Stick to gentle saline soaks and contact Apple Moon Tattoo LLC, if it doesn’t improve.
- Q: What are signs of infection?

Tattoo Aftercare
- Q: How do I take care of my new tattoo?
A: You will be given detailed instructions at the time of service. Which will include the following... - Keep the “second skin” on for the recommended time.
- Wash gently with the foaming soap given to you at the time of your appointment, pat dry, dont rub, or scratch and dont forget warm water
- Then apply a thin layer of aftercare balm given to you by Apple Moon Tattoo LLC.
- Repeat 2–3 times a day for the first week
- Q: How long does it take to heal?
A: Surface healing takes about 7–14 days. Full healing (under the skin) can take 4–6 weeks. Avoid swimming, tanning, or scratching during this time.
- Q: What should I avoid after getting a tattoo?
A: Avoid the following: - Direct sun exposure
- Pools, hot tubs, and lakes
- Tight or dirty clothing
- Picking, peeling, or scratching the tattoo
- Heavy sweating on the area for the first week or two
- Q: Is peeling and itching normal?
A: Yes! Flaking and itching are part of the healing process. Don’t scratch — use a clean hand to lightly tap the area or apply some of the tattoo balm that you received.
- Q: What if my tattoo looks cloudy or dull while healing?
A: This is normal. It’s called the “tattoo haze” and should clear up once the outer layer of skin fully regenerates (usually in 2–3 weeks).
